Freckles

My husband, Scott, & I have adopted Freckles only after 2 weeks.  He started out as our foster dog but we fell in love with him instantly and could not give him up.  Freckles is a very happy, laid back dog and our 10 and 12 year old children, Carleigh & Sam, love him to pieces.

Thank you to NJ Boxer Rescue for the wonderful work you do and we look forward to continuing our volunteer work with you.

Gilbert
I had been looking for a rescue for some time and just happened to mention to the vet techs at my veterinarians office that I was looking for another dog. They asked me if I would be interested in a boxer and introduced me to Gilbert. My vet was fostering him for the time being. I filled out an application and got approved and the next thing Maggie (my golden retriever) and I knew we were "officially" meeting Gilbert.  Gilbert and Maggie seemed to get along okay so I brought him home. He and my cat Spooky didn't see eye to eye at first but now they are great pals. Even sleeping together on the sofa.

Gilbert and Maggie are best buds because Maggie lets him be the boss... of course Spooky is the boss of all of us. Gilbert is a goofy, lovable, ALWAYS HUNGRY boxer who follows me everywhere. We got off to a rocky start - he got skunked 4 days after he moved in and he stole food whenever he got the chance - especially loaves of bread. But he learned the rules very quickly and he is a very smart boy. He doesn't steal food anymore and I give him bread as a treat. HE LOVES IT! The excitement for a piece of white bread is unbelievable and makes me laugh every time.  We are all thankful to all the wonderful people at NJ Boxer Rescue!

Dunkin
We'd like to thank all at Boxer Rescue, especially Tania and Donna. Dunkin and Cooper are getting along very well. They are best buddies. We were looking for a play mate for Cooper and Tania brought Dunkin (Formerly Jackson) to us. Cooper and Dunkin hit it off as soon as the saw each other. They each have their own special personalities, but they compliment each other so nicely. Cooer  and Dunkin are a perfect match. Thanks, Tania and Donna for helping us find the perfect playmate and buddy for Cooper. Dunkin and Cooper also have fun playing with their cousin, Dudley.

Dudley enjoys playing with his cousin's Cooper and Dunkin, as well as Dakota and Patches. Dudley is a wonderful boy. I'd like to thank Tania for all her help in bring Dudley to us.

Tyson
We adopted Tyson two weeks ago. We knew we wanted to adopt another boxer to be a playmate for our two year old female boxer, Guinness. Tyson is exactly what our family needed. He has such a warm, loving, and playful personality. Guinness loves her new brother. They are having a blast together. They keep my husband and I laughing constantly. We feel so blessed to have Tyson join our family. Thank you NJBR for helping make our family complete.

Buster
My boyfriend and I adopted Buster in July 2009.  When we first looked at your website we weren't looking for a senior boxer.  We had two Siberian Husky puppies and were looking for another young dog dog for them to play with.  We even considered fostering.  But every time I went onto the site I kept reading Buster's bio.  We finally decided to try and meet Buster.  We instantly fell in love with him and our kids and other "kids" fell in love with him too.  He is always by our side and wants to be loved all the time.  He is truly a blessing to our family and we would recommend a "Senior" boxer to anyone.  Even though he is 9 years old, he is just as playful as our 1 year old puppies.  We would adopt another senior boxer in a heartbeat.  Thank you for all for all that you do.

Lex
When we filled out an application to become a foster family, we had no idea what we were in for.  After being approved, we received a call that there was a boxer in desperate need of foster.  He was surrendered over 3 months ago and in a kennel because he could not go to a foster home with other dogs.  The kennel life was really stressing him out and he was very depressed.  When I went to pick him up, he was was full of nervous energy and his eyes were so full of despair...A long car ride later and a week of love and stability and we knew he was "our" dog and would not be going anywhere.  Although it breaks our hearts that he did not have a loving family and life for the first 5 years of his life, we are so happy that our paths crossed; it was meant to be and two months later, we can't imagine our lives without our amazing boy, Lex.  He will never have to worry about lack of love again; he has found his happy ending and so did we!  Thank you NJBR for making our family complete!

MaryAnne

We adopted MaryAnn on October 1, just 2 weeks ago.  We had been searching for a senior girl to adopt for over a year.  I really believe that it took so long, because MaryAnn was not in need of a home yet, and we were meant to have her.  MaryAnn is 9 yrs old, and a short little bundle of love.  That is her in the front of the picture.

We were very surprised to see how much energy she has, and how much she loves to run and play.  She runs around as soon as she wakes up, encouraging our 3 and 5 yr old Boxers to play while I fix their breakfast.  Vinnie, Maggie and MaryAnn were fast friends, sleeping together within 2 days, and playing with each other from the start.  Having an older dog in the group seems to have given Vinnie a sense of calm.  Our cats love MaryAnn too.  They could tell immediately that she was not a threat to them. They rub on her, and she loves it.

If you are looking to adopt a Boxer, I really encourage you to meet a senior before you decide on a younger one.  Seniors have so much love to give.  Some are couch potatoes, and some still have a bunch of play left in them.  The one thing that they have in common is that they are grateful,  and they need someone to love them.  They deserve a chance, and a family to live out their remaining years with.

Thank you NJBR for giving us the opportunity to adopt MaryAnn!

Molly

We adopted Molly in May of 2009 and she has quickly become such an amazing and integral part of our family.  Her overwhelming love for our children and any kids she comes across is truly beautiful to see.  She is extremely smart and funny and provides our family with daily morning laughs as she chases her nubby.  She is doing wonderful and we are so proud to have our beautiful Molly as part of our family.  We think she is just the best!

Stella

We adopted our Stella in April 2009.  Hard to imagine that she has only been with us for 5 months as it feels like she has always been with us.  She fit right into our family and although her "little" brother Patrick (our 1-1/2 year old Brindle Boxer) may be too playful for her at times, she holds her own and lets him know when she's had enough and he respects that.  I just love this little girl- she is so sweet, just loves to be with us and has the best manners.  She likes everyone she meets- canine and human, especially children- they just love Stella and her gentle nature letting them pet and cuddle up with her.  I am so thankful for NJ Boxer Rescue and especially her foster family for helping this loving girl find her forever home.  I'm partial to senior doggies, but Miss Stella is just extra special and we are grateful to have her as a member of our family.  She recently celebrated her 8th birthday with us- we celebrated with a cake- don't worry she didn't any of the cake, but was spoiled rotten with love and doggie treats befitting the queen that she is!  Come to think of it, sounds just like any other day here in our house.  Thank you everyone at NJ Boxer Rescue.

Roxy

Roxy, or as we like to call her, "Foxy Roxy," is a fantastic addition to our family.  She quickly had us laughing with her playful antics and quick wit!  Foxy Roxy has such a sweet & gentle demeanor too.  She garners attention wherever we take her. She enjoys going for rides in the car, camping, walks to the park and curling up in her "blankie" for a snooze.  Rescuing an animal has more benefits & rewards than you can imagine. Rescuing a senior animal is an absolute blessing!  Thank you NJBR.

Diesel

I would like to take this opportunity to say Thank you!!  Dave and I adopted Diesel this past Saturday.  In less than 48 hours he has become a part of our family, he is very intelligent and the biggest mush ever!!!!!  This is my idea of a very happy ending for Dave, Diesel and me!!!!

Reilly

Our little Reilly came to us on Mother's Day weekend.  What a wonderful way to celebrate the holiday. When I met her the weekend before, I knew that she was a special little girl, and how right I was.  Reilly was known as Smiley Reilly by her foster parents, Annemarie and Adam, and they were right on target.   This little boxer knows how to enjoy and appreciate life and bring a smile to everyone she meets.  It has been eight weeks since she came to our house, and she has proven to be much more than a boxer with special needs-she is a SPECIAL boxer, and we are very lucky to have her.  Her little bunny hop is unique, and she makes friends wherever she goes.  She is a friend to all humans and dogs, and lives to make everyone who knows her feel better about life. We plan on spending years and years with this little girl.  Thank you, Annemarie and Adam and New Jersey Boxer Rescue.  You have made the Pearlman family very happy.

Coco

We adopted Coco from NJBR 6 weeks ago.  She made the perfect companion for Rex,  who we adopted from NJBR back in the end of January... see his happy endings story here too. We can’t believe she has only been here for 6 weeks... seems like she has always been here along with Rex.  She has the cutest, innocent face, but don’t let that fool you.  She keeps Rex going all day long.  The two of them are partners in crime, LOL.  She also loves the grandkids, which was very important to us as well as getting along with other dogs.  She had just turned 1 when we adopted her.

Talk about boxer wiggles and kisses.... she gives them both so frequently!!!  She too has to follow me around all day and at night likes to curl up next to us and must be leaning on one of us in bed.  I did have to add another blanket to our bed so there is enough blankets for all of us, LOL.   I love to watch her run around our yard and jumping like a gazelle, so graceful and a petite little girl, but full of muscle.   I think she is very happy here,  just as happy as we are to have her. So thanks again to Arlene and Kerry for helping us find another perfect match for our household!  And NJBR for all the wonderful work that everyone does!!

Dutch

We recently adopted Dutch and are amazed by him every day.  He is such a gentle soul, and has a happy playful spirit. A perfect mix of personality!   He has settled into our daily routine here with no sign of any displacement, or confusion. Our family is in love with Dutch!   We are thrilled with him and how well he is fitting into our family.

After losing our Boxer Maggie last year, our house seemed so empty even though we have 4 teenage kids.  Now that we have adopted Dutch, our 2 oldest boys in college came home for the weekend both last weekend and this weekend just to spend time with him.  It's wonderful to have boxer wiggles again!  We can't thank you enough and everyone at boxer rescue for all you have given to these dogs and their new families.   We especially want to thank Julian and his family for doing such a wonderful job while fostering him.  He is a very confident and affectionate boy and we are delighted that he is now part of our family.

If you are considering adopting a rescue boxer, GO FOR IT!  You will be thrilled with the joy and love a rescue boxer will bring to your family.  My advice to you is set up house rules and is realistic about the exercise and time you can give your boxer, and you too will find your perfect match as we have!

Rocky

Rocky in his new home!   Do you think he is comfortable in his new home, just look at him!  He is doing really well. He loves to be outside Jake and him run circles around the yard. He has been a great dog, we are so happy we have him.

Mini & Max (Lily & Dexter)

Mini and Max, formally Lily and Dexter, have been such a wonderful addition to our family.  They are so connected and caring of one another, we are so thankful they were not separated.  They are constantly intertwined, like yin and yang.  To have the energy and love of two boxers back in our home has been therapeutic.  We all love to cuddle every evening!

Mini and Max were found abandoned outside when NJ Boxer rescued them.  To see how they are willing to trust again has been inspiring. Mini is so smart, cunning and extremely loving and affectionate.  She is courageous and her kisses are free flowing.  She has figured out how to open our home’s interior doors!

Max is cautious and strong, to see him develop both physically and self confidently has been very rewarding.  He is becoming more and more generous with his kisses and trustworthy of us. Our hearts are filled.  Thank you Boxer Rescue.

Tyson

Hi everyone.  My name is Tyson.  I adopted my new Mom, her name is Barbara, on December 10, 2008.  The minute I met her when she came to visit me in my foster home, I knew she was for me.  I acted like a nut with the other dogs there, and she didn’t even care.  She hugged me and kissed me anyway.  When she picked me up a couple of days later, I just knew I was going to my forever home.

I’m still nutty after three months in my new home, but everyone who meets me thinks I’m just adorable (I do have an expressive face, if I have to say so myself).  Mom says it feels as if I have been here forever.  I have a new trainer, Paul, from Bark Busters.  He said that when he first met me, he thought I was going to be tough, but after five minutes of training he said I was a wuss.  After only two lessons, I have really learned how to pay attention to Mom and follow her commands, and I am getting much better at resisting the urge to grab things that don’t belong to me.  You would never know from my picture, but I LOVE to run (I also LOVE pillows!). I have a big fenced yard and soccer balls to play with, and sometimes I just run racetrack patterns around the yard.  I love to go airborne, leaping in the air like a deer.  The whole neighborhood watches me.  There is a nice lady next door (her name is Barbara, too), and she comes over every day to let me out while Mom is at work.  She thinks I’m hilarious when I run, and on rainy days, she watches TV with me for a while.  When Mom gets home, I get all of her attention.  That’s when I start throwing toys around.  No matter what I do to my favorite toys, Mom sews them together with dental floss, and they’re good as new.  We take long walks (I walk beautifully on my leash), and every day I meet new dogs and new people.  Sometimes I go shopping with Mom because I love to ride in the car.  I really don’t care what we do as long as we are together.  When Mom goes to bed at night, I go with her.  She says I’m not very good at sharing the bed, but I have to sleep tight against her because I have to know where she is at all times.  I even sit next to the bathtub when she takes a bath.  Last night she said it would be my turn in the tub very soon.  I’m not sure I’m going to like that.  I’m trying to be very good so Mom will let me adopt a brother or sister soon. I’m sure my friends at NJBR will help with that because they were so good to me, and they got me a very happy ending.  Thank you NJBR, and especially Annemarie and Adam, for all that you did to help me find my forever home.  I know I am truly loved.

Rex

This is our newly adopted lapdog, Rex.  The vet thinks he is about 18 months old.  We’ve only had him a short time, but it feels like he has been with us forever.  What a great addition to our home.   I have to give so much thanks to NJ Boxer Rescue, including Arlene and Kerry for making this an easy transition and to the Foster family Violet and Tom who nursed Rex to the good health he is in today!  When Tom and Violet had taken him in, he was so emaciated, he could hardly hold his head up, and he was just skin and bones.  They hand fed him baby food in the beginning and in the little time they had him, he gained 15 pounds!  Rex is such a lover.   Follows me around where ever I go.  He loves people and kids!  Good thing, in this house.  Our family comes here frequently.  He is so good with the grandkids, 5 years old and 16 months old and they love him too.  I love seeing that Boxer wiggle!   I know Rex is really enjoying his new home here.   His biggest decision is which piece of furniture he should take his nap on or see how many times he can make us get up to let him out to play in the yard every time he rings the bell.  He loves it outside and never has enough of running around out there.   My husband and I only hope that Rex doesn’t get ALL the covers in bed at night. I still can’t believe that this sweet dog was abandoned.  I enjoy giving updates on Rex to all of these great people that devote their time to rescuing these dogs.  I love to send them photos to show them how much Rex is loved and that he is well taken care of, so they know they made the right choice when sending us Rex.  Having had Boxers before, we knew what loving animals they are and could never be without one (or two) again.  Even though Rex is going through his terrible two’s right now, he is still a joy and we really cherish him.  I never have laundry baskets lying around anymore.  It gets put away as soon as it is folded from the dryer or Rex will help me in his own way, making the socks soggy and slimy, LOL.  We are working with a trainer now, so hopefully he won’t find socks so appealing soon. All he needs is some TLC and some basic training and he will be even more of the great dog a boxer can be.  Thanks again, NJ Boxer Rescue!

Dizzy

This is Dizzy. He was named Max when he was with NJ boxer rescue. I adopted him in January 2005. From the day I picked him up he has been an amazing dog. He has so much personality and a real love for people. Not a day goes by that I don't have someone tell me how much they love Dizzy and he is a requested guest everywhere I am invited to. We have really been spending life together and for the last year he has had a brother named Junior (also a rescue). The picture is them together. They are inseparable and love each other very much. Dizzy has been to the west coast and fell in love with the beach.  Now he believes that all cars go to the beach and will jump into any car with an open door. Dizzy is happy and healthy and secure for life.

Cyrus

I just wanted to wish everyone at NJ Boxer Rescue a Happy Holidays.  Baby was our first rescue and she fit in with our family perfectly.  In April we had to let her go to Rainbow Bridge, three weeks later we brought home Cyrus.  He was just what we needed, great big ball of wiggles and kisses.  He is definitely being spoiled and he loves it.  He doesn't seem to realize that he is not a lap dog, but we don't mind.  We couldn't have asked for a better dog.  We have decided that Cyrus needs a four legged buddy to keep him company.

Harley

We adopted Harley on December 14, 2008.  She has been nothing but a joy, and a true blessing to our household.  We all love her so much.  She is truly enjoying her forever home and she knows exactly how much she is loved.  She is our princess.  Thank you so much to Laurie, Kerry, Mary Jean, and everyone at boxer rescue.  You all worked so quickly for Harley to be adopted to us.  This organization is absolutely wonderful.

Utley (Formerly Bishop)

My name is Utley and I've been in my new, forever home since April. I just love it here and they just LOVE me. That's even their last name! They've never had boxers before (but have had other large dogs) and now they can't imagine not having a boxer in their house!! I came to them a puppy, but pretty big...somewhere around 70 lbs. and already I'm up to 107 lbs. at about 17 months. I'm one big boy!! I love all kids and pretty much all other dogs. I can't understand, though, why the cat who lives here doesn't like me. She just hides upstairs all of the time. She doesn't know how fun I could be if we could just play together. I still get into puppy trouble; I love to steal socks, hats, and anything else I can get my mouth on! The Christmas tree is very tempting right now. I love to run around in my big fenced in yard, and I loved going to my "brother's" little league baseball games in the spring and the fall. We really like baseball in this house; that's how I got my name Utley, after Chase from the Phillies. We both had a great year...he won the World Series and I got my forever home. I saw snow the other day for the first time...or at least my mom thinks it was my first time, by the way I looked so puzzled and amazed. I'm really happy to be here and my family is so grateful to NJBR for helping us find each other. Barb, my foster mom, didn't have me for long, but she took great care of me while she did have me and loves to see pictures of me and to hear how I'm doing. Well, I'm off to find something I can steal...that clean laundry looks just my speed!

Peanut

What a blessed Thanksgiving this year! Peanut came to us the day after Thanksgiving and we are so happy to have her as part of our family. Our boy Ceasar had recently lost his long-time fur friend and he became very sad and lonely. When Peanut came bouncing into the house with all of her wiggles and kisses, Ceasar just seemed to perk right up. Right from the start, they ran and played in the yard and snuggled together on the dog bed, or sometimes the couch if you weren't looking. She already sits on command, walks beautifully on the leash, and has perfected the "sad eyes" look to get some extra treats! It's truly amazing how such a little Peanut could bring so much love and laughter into our home. She has filled a hole in our hearts and we feel lucky to have such a great little girl. We are very thankful to NJBR for saving her and taking really good care of her, Lindsey and Cindy you’re the best!

Samantha

You cannot imagine how heart wrenching it is to give up your boxer.  I sadly came to this decision with the help of my wonderful vet - Harriet Lederman of Bergen Animal Hospital.  Samantha came into my life as a puppy when my son rescued her from a horrible owner; she was ill and malnourished.  With Dr. Lederman's help, she bounced back and became a gorgeous vibrant girl full of wiggles and kisses.  To this day we miss her greatly.  But miracles happen and our miracle was Tania from NJBR.  I cannot say enough about how terrific NJBR is as an organization - the compassion and understanding I received was amazing.  I did not want to do this but Samantha needed so much more than we could give her.  Tania kept promising me she'd find the perfect family for Sammy and oh how she did.  Today Samantha is exactly where she belongs - with a family where there's a large fenced yard, a big brother for her to box with and children to play with plus lots of love.  Tania is one of the kindest people I've ever met and NJBR is fabulous!  When I retire and have the time to devote to a dog, I will call Tania again to find another wiggling boxer!

Ollie

It's been a little over a year since Ollie and I found each other, and I can't imagine life without him. We've formed a very strong bond and are the best of friends. We enjoy doing lots of things together - walks, trips to the beach, hiking in the park, driving around town and quite a few training courses.
He's taught me so many things that it's hard to even list them all, that almost anything can be fun, a good walk puts your mind to rest and is good exercise, and boxer wiggles and kisses make all your worries go away. Ollie is a goofball first and foremost, loves to meet new people and dogs, learn new things and is a doll with children. He's a rockstar with all the kids in the neighborhood, giving them sloppy kisses and doing tricks for treats. Lots of thanks to all the wonderful people at NJBR who helped along the way and continue to take an interest in Ollie's progress, health and accomplishments, especially Chris, Kerry and Nancy, his foster-mom! Some say Ollie was lucky to find me, but I definitely think I was the lucky one!

Murphy

Hello, my name is Murphy and the human in the picture with me is my new dad!!!  I have a new mom and sister too, but they were hiding behind the camera! I love my new home and have been welcomed by the entire family with opened arms.  My new sister Tigger doesn’t play with me as much as I would like, but we enjoy walking and sleeping together.  She is slowly coming around. Since I have been with my new family I have been trying  to learn how to swim…but can’t seem to understand that I need to use my back legs.  Tigger continues to show me, but I am still a very sloppy swimmer, but have a great time trying and my family gets a kick out of it too.

NJBR thank you so much for finding me a GREAT forever home and family.

Sarah

Hi!  I am Sarah Rose.  My new family added the name Rose because they like my pink coloring.  They tell me I am the sweetest girl they have ever met.  I have a huge backyard to play in and lots of toys.  Best of all, I have a new “brother.”  My new brother’s name is Elvis and he is so handsome!  We love to romp and play rough in the backyard.  My new girls Katie, Paige and Jordyn love to take Elvis and I on long walks through the neighborhood.  I get so excited when people stop and tell them what beautiful Boxers Elvis and I are!  I am so thankful that my foster mom, Lucretia, took me in at New Jersey Boxer Rescue.  She took such good care of me and loved me until my new family came along.  I miss her, but I know that I am in my Forever Home now!!  Thanks to everyone at NJBR for taking such good care of me!!

Samantha

Things are great with Samantha. I can't imagine Jet without her now. They sleep together, play together and Jet is even better to take walks with because of her. They share everything such as toys, beds and even water bowls without any aggression. They are a perfect match! After her first night, she settled right in and she is a great addition to our family.  I would like to thank you Tania, for all your help in making this happen for Jet and out family.

Here we are, the 3 stoogetts! Hi, my name is Trinity Lynn. I am the cute one in the middle. These are my sisters, Jersey & Jada. I've been in my wonderful home now for 1 year. I am having the best time of my life. We have a huge back yard with tons of toys & a small swimming pool. I just love the water! We also go to the park where we get lots of exercise. I've gained a lot of weight & I now have muscles. My Mom & Dad are the best. They tell me all the time that I am spoiled rotten, whatever that means. I love my whole family & I am so happy that they picked me. I also want to thank Chris for bringing me to them. Did I mention that I love treats?

Cooper

Cooper is a wonderful boy. When we first met him on Tuesday he was a little bit afraid of us. But after a short time he began to relax and trust us. When Donna arrived on Sunday. We could see that he was extremely excite to see us. Once in the house, he greeted us as if he knew us all his life. He wanted to kiss and play the entire time. After Donna left, we went out in the yard and played the rest of the afternoon. Within a half hour he was playing and acting if he lived here all along. We couldn't believe how Cooper accepted us as his new forever family. He's a great boy! He's even learning that each one of us has a different way of playing with him. Next Wednesday, he'll meet his new Vet. I'm sure they'll get along nicely. We'd like to thank all of you for your help in bringing Cooper to us. You guy's and gal's made our family happy beyond words. We'd like to especially that Donna for all the effort in bring Cooper to Westwood and for fostering him until we were able to take him in. Thank all again. We'd like to share a few photos of Cooper and our family with all of you.

Duke

Duke has been a perfect addition to our family. Duke (left) and Maxie (right) are inseparable.  We wanted Maxie to have a companion, someone to play with and keep her out of trouble.  We got Maxie as a puppy and she is 10 months old and full of energy.  Well Duke came along and was the perfect balance to our home.  He is a big Gentle Giant.  All he wants to do is give us hugs and kisses.  Duke likes to lay on the sofa next to us at night and watch TV and we have seen him go over to Maxie while she slept and kissed her on the ear.  TOO CUTE.

They will only go outside together...and come inside together.  One will wait at the door for the other one and they race to the end of the fence .  They have a 1/2 acre fenced in back yard that they gallop like horses and they play so rough it sounds like a serious dog fight.  They love to "Box" and they make some crazy sounds when they go at it!

Thanks to Debbie, Duke's Foster mom.  We had some "adjustment time" with the two of them and Debbie was terrific.  We talked on the phone and emailed all the time.  NJ Boxer Rescue is a great organization that really cares about Boxers and finding the right home for boxers who had a tough start.  I know that my family is very grateful.

I am the Boxer Formerly known as Tyson.  I am from NJ Boxer rescue who got me from Newark, but now I have been blessed to have been adopted by a great Family, and I now live up the hill in West Orange.  In a big ole house with a big ole yard and lots of food.  I'm told I am 2 years old but my master thinks I am not quite 2 yet, I will let him tell you why he thinks this.  Yes I am a bit thin, but never fear I heard those Jenkins folks know how to fatten up a pup like me.  If you doubt you should see my big sister, Bailey. She's a big ole bruiser bully who seems to think I want to play with her and her toys.  I will, but for now I am just getting used to the new people and places, oh by the way what's a cage?  My new name is Titan, my master thought Tyson was a corny name.  Actually he just figured out why so many Boxer Dogs are called Tyson.  Forgive him, he is a great master, teacher, and I expect to learn lots of things from him like down, stay, heel, go stop and this thing he keeps telling Bailey, cage, he is all that but sometimes not to smart.  Well that is it for now.  I will keep you all posted with pictures and emails.  For now just want to say YEAH ME!!!

Ramsey

We adopted Ramsey in December and I cannot say enough great things about him. He is just the sweetest little boy you’ll ever meet. He and his new sister Gucci are absolutely inseparable. They are constantly playing and running around. Adopting him was definitely one of the best things I’ve ever done. I love him to death. He is my spoiled little boy and I am proud to say he has slept in my bed every night since I’ve had him! I can’t imagine my home without him. Ramsey is definitely living the life he was always meant to have.

New Owners: Hailey

Jack

We adopted Jack in December and he couldn’t have fit more perfectly into our family.   How did we go so long with only one boxer?  Jack adores his new sister, Madison.  They can spend hours in the backyard chasing each other and wrestling.  He is full of energy and is keeping his older sister young at heart.  At the end of the day, they will snuggle up together for a long nap.  It seems he can never get close enough to her.  Where ever Madison goes, Jack will follow.  Jack was surrendered to NJBR because of his allergies.  We are working patiently with our vet to find a food for him that will relieve his constant itching.  We have even found some special treats for Jack, but nothing beats his favorite snack – bananas!  Jack came into our home full of hugs and kisses for us.  Yes, he actually “hugs” us!  He seems grateful to have a constant playmate and a forever home.  We too, are grateful for him and NJBR for expanding our family.

Josie (Geneveive)

We never thought we could love another boxer as much as our last boy TJ, but Josie (previously Geneveive) has proved us wrong. Josie has filled a spot in our hearts that was empty when TJ passed away and we are truly grateful.  When she came to us in August she fit in immediately and she takes turns sleeping with our two sons Ryan & Dillon.  Thank you NJ Boxer Rescue for all your hard work and dedication to such a wonderful breed of dog!

New Owners: The Burns Family

JoJo

Here are some pictures of JOJO hope you all enjoy the pictures as much as we love JOJO.  He is very active....he loves to walk me. Always willing to play ball and tug of war.  JoJo is aspiring to become a lap dog......all 60+ pounds of him. Recently he has climbed up onto of mommy when she is watching the news or a movie because he wants ALL the attention, and don't stop rubbing my head and hind end or I will lick you until you’re soaked........  He absolutely loves riding in the car. Needless to say....JOJO is a keeper!!!  JOJO has stolen our heart and found a home.

Jeter

This is our beloved Jeter who we adopted in early September. I cannot say enough about this wonderful boy!  In traditional boxer fashion, he absolutely loves to give out kisses and is most content snuggling up next to one of us on the couch or bed.  Although he really enjoys his walks on the beach and to the park, as well as playing with us in the yard, he is generally a very laid back guy, and prefers to be inside lazing around next to his family or playing with his bone or stuffed animals. When we adopted him, we were advised that his family gave him up because he kept marking inside the house and they were unable to break him of this. However, since the day he came home with us, I am proud to say, not a single episode of urinating has occurred. He is the model of good behavior all around. No destructive behaviors, minimal barking, just a great big mush and we couldn't love him more! Out family can not thank NJ Boxer Rescue enough for the gift of Jeter!

Zoe (Meesha)

We adopted Meesha (now Zoe) in October and she is doing fabulous! There is no lack of attention for Zoe - between our 9 year old boxer Ernie and our son and daughter she always can find someone to cuddle or play with! Our son absolutely adores her and makes "cat sounds" to get her to follow him around the house. I would think she would enjoy a break from an active 5 year old boy, but when he goes to bed she follows in to cuddle with him.

Her leg is healing nicely. She will be followed at University of Penn at least until March when she will be a year old. We are optimistic that she will continue to improve and not need surgery
Thank you NJ Boxer Rescue - Zoe is a great addition to our family, she obviously fits right in!!

Duke

Duke  is doing just fine after 2 weeks you would think he has lived with us for years, Marie and I just love him and god he knows it LOL , he is good  while we are at work, and being a young boy I get boxer wiggles for like 15 minutes when I get home along with a lot of kisses.

New Owner: Lou

Dempsey

I can't believe I have only had Dempsey for over a month now.  It feels like he has been my dog forever!  I couldn't have asked for a better boxer. He fits right in at the local dog park, where he gets to go every day, and has even made other boxer friends who he greets at the gates.  Dempsey and I go everywhere together, and he even seems to enjoy his weekly training classes.  I look forward to the years ahead with Dempsey!

New Owner: Lindsey

Bailey

We adopted Bailey in August 2006.  We absolutely adore her and just could not imagine our lives without her now.  She is the sweetest, most gentle boxer and she brings us so much happiness.  Thank you to Greta, Ellen and Vicki for everything that you did to help us.

New Owners: John & Jillian

Henna & Zeus

We adopted Henna in August and Zeus in April (2 on the left with natural ears).  We now have 4 boxers in our home and life couldn't be better.  Henna was surrendered to a shelter in north Jersey and was brought in with a euthanasia request.  She is approximately 10 years old (although she acts half that).  Thankfully the shelter couldn't do it because she was a gentle, sweet dog and they contacted NJBR.  We had to keep Henna separated for a few weeks from our other dogs because she was not properly socialized in her past.  To look at her now, you'd never know it.   Zeus was surrendered to NJBR by his home because they did not have time for him anymore.  What a love he has been from the minute he walked into this house.  He's the youngest at 2 years old and he keeps the other 3 seniors going!  They are the best of friends and have to be everywhere together.  There is nothing better than giving a rescue dog a second chance.  No doubt our two rescues are living life now the way they deserve and we love it!

New Owners: Chris & Pete

Lexi

We have had the joy of having Lexi in our lives since April 2007.  Every day that we have had with her has been nothing but sheer happiness.  She is the most gentle, lovable, and well-behaved girl and is WONDERFUL with our 2 small children.  Lexi has truly made our family complete.....we could not imagine our lives without her!  NJ Boxer Rescue is such a terrific organization, and everyone who is a part of it defines what special people REALLY are.  We want to say a special thanks to Regan for fostering Lexi and to Chris for helping us find the perfect match for our family!!!

New Owners: Kathleen, George & Family

Cody

We adopted Cody in July of 2004.  We knew we wanted a boxer due to their loving, sweet nature and how lovable they are with Children.  We were so impressed with the thorough adoption process and were especially pleased with how the adoption process was handled.  When Cody first pranced through our door with his foster mom Tracy, my husband and I knew immediately that he was the special addition we needed for our home.  What a ham we encountered.  Of course he was scared and timid but we knew he was comfortable with the surroundings.  I told my husband that I loved him already and he was the dog for us.  Three years later we love this little man more than life.  He is our best bud, our protector and our companion.  Every day is planned around him and how we can give him the best life possible. We enjoy every moment of our time with him from watching TV, long walks and night night time, which when said he runs to the stairs.  We have learned to live with his loud snoring and consistent overtake of our sleeping space!  Thank you so much NJBR for enriching us with such a fun loving, wonderful playmate who brings us much joy and happiness everyday!  We love him so much!

New Owners: Jennifer & Robert

Baxter

We adopted Baxter at the end of January 2007.  He has been an absolute joy for us and our other boxer Lola.  They play together, sleep together and are 100% inseparable.  Since we adopted Baxter he has gained over 13lbs and is looking as healthy as ever.  He is just the cutest little thing with his giant droopy jowls.  And he is definitely a "Mama's Boy."  We just wanted to say thank you to the NJBR and we looking forward to adopting a boxer from you in the future.

New Owners: Brian & Stephanie

Kano

We have had Kano for over a year now and he is the greatest gift we could have ever given to our kids. We will never have any other dog but a boxer and Kano reassures us that they are by far the greatest family members you could ever ask for. Thank you NJBR.

New Owners: Jim, Donna, Dominick, Juli & Nicky

Madison

It is hard to believe that Madison has been with us for 2 months.  She is a real joy and we love her dearly.  She still talks and barks a lot but we are working on it closely.  Next week she will start formal training classes.  My daughter has worked with her but we felt for socialization she should attend some classes.  She gets along well with all the other dogs in our family.  We had everyone's dogs here while they were on vacation and Madison thoroughly enjoyed herself.  She loved running and playing with each and everyone.

We will keep you up-to-date on her progress.  Thanks again for such a wonderful dog and all your help in getting her.

Rosie (Lady Ro)

Rosie (formerly known as Lady Ro) came to live with us exactly two weeks after our beloved Sidda died suddenly of a brain hemorrhage. Rosie had big shoes to fill. She has been a wonderful addition to our lives. Rosie has very interesting idiosyncrasies. She barks like mad when someone approaches our home, serving as a great security system. But then she retreats under our bed when the “perpetrator” actually enters the house! She LOVES to go for rides, but insists on curling in a little ball by passengers’ feet, rather than sitting on a comfortable seat. She snores, dominates our bed and has a complete wiggle fest when any of us returns home, practically bending in two! The most lovable thing about her is the way that she instantly accepted our cat, Maya, who had been Sidda’s best friend. Rosie had never lived with a cat and we took a deep breath and adopted her, realizing that our lives might be CRAZED for a while, integrating our two animals. She made it so easy. She loved Maya from Day One and they are best friends, sleeping together and partying, I am sure, when we are not at home. In this photo, Rosie shares her beloved food with Maya!

Rocky (Chopper)

We adopted Rocky two months ago and he has already brought us so much happiness.  He is always making us laugh.  He was very skinny when we brought him home but after treating him for whip worm and giving him plenty of food, treats and TLC he has gained some weight and is looking very handsome.  He is very affectionate and loves to give kisses.  He has made a few dog friends as well.  He loves going for walks and rides in the car and he's even starting jogging.  So far he has adjusted well to his new life.  We look forward to many wonderful years having him as part of our family.  We would like to thank everyone at NJBR for bringing Rocky and us together.

New Owners: Tracy & Ron

Ruby

Ruby is ten and she plays like she is a pup. A lot of people may have reservations about adopting a senior dog, and we just want to speak on behalf of those older dogs who need good homes. Ruby is the greatest dog we have ever had. She is the sweetest, most lovable dog that we have ever met. During the course of a person's life they can enjoy the lives of many good dogs, however dog's don't have that much time and sometimes they aren't able to share their lives with good people especially for senior dogs who are rescued at an older age. I really recommend adopting an older dog. Ruby is an absolute blessing and we fell in love with her the first day we had brought her home. If you feel that you would be a good match for a senior dog it's a great opportunity to give back to these dogs so they can find what they have been missing all along.

Salem (Tyson)

My name is Salem (formerly Tyson) and I've been with my forever family for 2 weeks now. I just love my new parents!  They take me lots of cool places like Joey's Dog Boutique, the park, and tons of walks. I was a little nervous at first going to a new home, but not anymore. I've settled right in and now Mommy and Daddy call me a "love bug". I have lots of fun toys to play with, although I prefer just to sleep with them. Lots of visitors have come over to meet me and give me pets....which is fine by me. I get lots of love from everybody I meet! Thank you NJ Boxer Rescue for taking me in and to Regan, Kerry and Mike for helping me to find a family that loves me soooooo much. LIFE IS GOOD!

New Owners: Robin & Dean

Murphy (Coors)

Meet Fynn and Murphy (formerly Coors).  They are our dynamic duo of mischief, but they make us laugh and smile every day.  We adopted Murphy (on the right) in August after several months of looking for a second dog.  It took a while to find the right dog, but we are so glad we waited for Murphy!  He and Fynn got along instantly and if they're not playing tug-of-war, then they're sleeping on the couch together.  Life has definitely gotten more exciting since we adopted Murphy, but we couldn't imagine it any other way.  ^_^   Thank you Kerry, Denise, and Barb for your patience and help finding this great dog!

New Owners: Michelle & Mike

Penny

We've had Penny almost a month now and we have thoroughly enjoyed having her as a part of our family! Any reservations we had about an older dog, a female dog, or getting a second boxer, disappeared within the first day that Penny was with us. She is a sweet, smart girl and looks at us with what can only be described as gratefulness in her eyes whenever we pet her! We are so glad we found her when we did! A special thank you to Nancy Rolf for giving Penny such a wonderful and loving foster home. Also, thanks to Denise Werner for making the adoption process such a pleasant experience. Penny's bio said, "Whoever decides to adopt Penny, I can guarantee, will not be disappointed. She is everything anyone could ever hope to have in 'man's best friend'." We couldn't agree more!

Bella "Emma"

We just love our New Puppy Bella (Emma)  She fits right in with our gang.  We have a place down the shore and she loves riding in the golf cart and visiting with all the kids and other dogs.  She is so well behaved.  She loves giving us kisses and loves to play catch.  We can’t imagine our life without her.  She has stolen our hearts!!  She loves laying at the foot of our chinchilla cage and just watches them for hours on end.  She puts her nose up to the cage and wiggles her tail when they come to her. She is a wonderful addition to our family and we just love love love her so much!!  We want to thank the New Jersey Boxer Rescue for helping us find our precious pup and taking such good care of her until she found her forever home with us!!!

New Owners: George, Debi & Family

Gracie Kay "Rainey"

Gracey Kay (formerly "Rainey") has quickly adapted to her new, loving home.  We couldn't have asked for better dog.  She is the most loving and cuddly dog we have ever seen.  She will press her chest against you so that you know she's in need of a hug.  She also rests her head on your lap when she wants a scratch.  We are so grateful to have her!!  She's the perfect addition to our family.

New Owners: Sharon & Scott

Augie

There isn’t much else to add that hasn’t been noted by all the others who have adopted a boxer through New Jersey Boxer Rescue.  Augie is practically perfect.  We cannot imagine how anyone could ever have let him go or how he wasn’t adopted instantly during his residence at a shelter.  In any case, their loss is our gain.  After several weeks of healthy living Augie has caught up on his rest and has gained several pounds so that he is now in a normal weight range.  Three square meals a day and a relaxing home life have removed several years from his apparent age.  He’s got the playfulness of a puppy and the attitude of a teen.   We truly appreciate the professional and caring approach that all the representatives of NJBR have put forth; their sage advice has provided a genuine source of support.  Our family is grateful for the opportunity to provide a home and a family for this wonderful, loving boxer!

New Owners: Mary Jean & Don

PupPup

We adopted Pup Pup "Puppers" on Friday, June 29, 2007 and so far she has been an absolute doll.  We love her so much and so does our other female boxer, Lucy.  That's Puppers on the right.  Look how happy they look together! We will continue to share our photos with New Jersey Boxer Rescue.  Thank you Lori, Mark, Kristen & Vicki for all of your help!  We just love our new family!

Hailey

Hi!  I'm Hailey and I am wiped out as you can see by my picture!  We were running around playing with my toys, which we do allot.  I have a lot of toys, but not a favorite one.  I ever like my brother's toys and he's a cat!  He and I get along really well, he cries for me when my mom and dad take me for a walk.  I'm really happy here.  They take good care of me with all of my allergies and I'm feeling really good.  They are always hugging me and my brother and giving us lots of kisses.  I like that a lot.  I'm so glad NJ Boxer Rescue brought us together.  We all complete each other!

New Owners: Elizabeth & Rich

Zoey

Hi, that's me, Zoey, on the right.  I got to come and live with my mom and former "sister" Brielle 3 years ago.  Mom use to call me her "little witchy girl" cause I was filled with so much Boxer mischief.  I have developed all of my house manners (with just a little encouragement from mom) since those early days and now she calls me her "Little Angel."  I had the time of my life moving in with my mom and "sissy" and they just loved me so much I didn't know it was possible!  I didn't have the best childhood in the world but WOW did that ever change!  My mom says I'm her heart and that she doesn't know what she would ever have done if we hadn't found each other!  It's just fun, love, kisses, wiggles and snuggles all around!  Unfortunately, my "sissy" passed away this past January. I love my mom, she loves me and we both are happier than we ever imagined we could be being a foster family for other "kids" from NJBR who we get to share our love with and who are overjoyed to love us back!  What a wonderful world it is!

Sugar Ray

Sugar Ray is awesome. He fits in with our family perfect. He loves playing catch with my two boys & running around the yard.

New Owners: The Waller Family

Hera

OH, MY GOODNESS!!!  What more can we say.  Hera is the most lovable, affectionate, well-behaved little girl anyone could ever ask for.  She and our two daughters are inseparable and are the heart of our family.  All she wants to do is be hugged and danced with (we actually thought about changing her name to ABBA, for she is our Dancing Queen).  We can't imagine life without her.  She has us smiling all day long!!!  Thank God for the volunteers at the New Jersey Boxer Rescue.  You probably are not told enough, but it is because of you, that Hera and many other boxers find out that there truly are happy endings!!!  Thank you for bringing such joy to our lives.

New Owners: Judy & Danielle

Layla

We aren't to sure how we lasted 2 and a half years with just one boxer. Layla was a perfect addition to our family. We still can't understand how this sweet friendly little girl survived by herself on the mean streets of Jersey City. Her older brother Magner welcomed her with wiggles and kisses, now they are inseparable. Laying on their dad's chair after some playtime is their most favorite thing in the world to do. Even better when dad is already laying there too. They share toys, food, naps and walk perfectly on the leash together. Apparently Layla is also a big hit at ALL Good Dogs Day Care, just like her older brother. A big thank you to Pam and Barb , and everyone  at NJ boxer rescue for introducing us to our little Layla Jane.

New Owners: Rob & Tracey

Jersey

This is Jersey & Jada, the inseparable sisters. We got Jersey last September from the Boxer Rescue as a playmate for Jada.  Lots of thanks to Denise, Cindy & all the volunteers for all they do. Grazie!

New Owners: Linda & Lou

Harley

Harley (formerly Trinidad) has been with me for 6 months.  I can't imagine a day without him. He is the most wonderful boxer boy. Many thanks to Vickie for all the help she gave me, foster mom Amanda for all the months of loving care she gave Harley and NJ Boxer Rescue for saving him from that shelter.

Duke

Duke became a member of our family on December 24th.  Once we got home Bella welcomed him with tons of happy boxer wiggles and barks.  After she gave him a tour of the house, they boxed for a few minutes and then they both took a nap.  On Christmas morning, they opened toys from Santa.  Bella had to help Duke, he was just carrying around his wrapped toys!   It didn't take long for Dukes' true boxer personality to come out in full force. Duke and Bella get along wonderfully, they play, box and sleep together.  Duke LOVES to snuggle with Frank, Bella & I on the couch.  He is such a love and wonderful addition to our growing family!

New Owners: Frank & Abby

Spike

After spending months in a shelter, NJBR took possession of Spike.  He was scared, thin and in need of some TLC.  Look at this handsome boy only a few months after being adopted by his forever home!

New Owners: Rick & Chris

Zues

Zues is currently enjoying his new family.

Elliot

We absolutely LOVE Elliot.. He is a great addition to our family of boxers. He gets along so well with the other two boxers because he's so laid back, we could all learn a lot from him, lol. Thank you for doing what you do at NJ Boxer Rescue- we had an outstanding experience with you, and now we have a GREAT dog to show for it.

Gus The Pup

Here are all the boys in the household all pooped on a Saturday night.  Gus came to us from NJ Boxer Rescue at about 6 months old.  He fit right in with his brothers Oscar the boxer, Morty the Cow Dog and his friends up and down the street.  He is having a very good life here.  Thanks NJ Boxer Rescue, keep up the good work.

New Owners: Ryki & Family

Riley

First, I wanted to thank everyone at Boxer Rescue for being so accommodating and amazing. This whole experience has been just delightful and I can’t imagine it having gone easier.  The thoroughness of your process made me confident that I would have your support throughout Riley’s life and has made me want to be more active in Boxer Rescue in my own. As I write this, Riley and Madeleine are rolling around on the couch together, nibbling on one another and biting one another’s ankles, their tails wagging furiously. They each seem to take turns being a bit dominant and submissive (though I think Riley gets the best of her often.) They walk beautifully together and are pretty famous. I took Riley for a walk without Madeleine for the first time the other night and when I came back about twenty minutes later, Madeleine greeted us at the door. Normally, she runs to me and is all over me. However, this time, she jumped on Riley with great relief and ignored me entirely. I honestly can’t imagine my home without him.

New Owner: Ryan

Louie

I don't know how to thank to NJBR specially to Denise, Donna and Cindy for this gift of love that is Louie. When I called Denise I had just had a very disappointing experience with another rescue group. To make a long story short in about 2 weeks I was being introduced to Louie, the cutest most loving Boxer I have ever seen. He and my other Boxer Oscar never had one incident since the first day Louie came to our house. They eat, sleep and follow me around the house together. They share everything without any problem or aggression. Louie is nice to the cat also. I can't say enough about these ladies and the wonderful work they do. They really found the perfect dog for my family and we couldn't love him more.

Jersey

Hi! My name is Jersey Burkhardt, I was adopted from the boxer rescue when I was 8 weeks old. I had a birthday in December and I turned one year old. We had a birthday party for me complete with vanilla cupcakes. my brother and I had a blast. i would like to tell you about my brother his name is Petey, he also came from the boxer rescue. we lived together happily, every day and shared everything. Petey became very sick and he hasn't been back since. I know he is never coming back and I miss him terribly. i have sent a picture of both of us, last year when I was really little and my brother was still healthy. thank you, boxer rescue for placing me in a wonderful home.

Isabell

Isabell came to us skinny, with some poor skin conditions, and more than a little fearful of strangers, men in particular.  She was full of love, especially for the girls, and she has just wiggled her way into our hearts. Even when she is naughty, which I must admit isn't as rare as we would like, my girls will say, "that's ok, we love you anyway Izzy!" and give her a great big hug.  We fight over who she sleeps with.  We fight over who feeds her.  We fight over who gets to walk her; over what new toys she will have; over who gets to do her training; who gets to brush her; sit by her in the car, reward her with her favorite treats.  Sometime I wonder how my family made it so long without a boxer and then I know... we were just waiting for Miss Isabell.  She is the perfect dog for us.  She is sweet and patient. She gives just the right amount of kisses.  She knows which one of us likes to toss the ball, who likes to play the tugging game, and who is best for a wrestle on the floor.  She is the perfect snuggle buddy at night and the best walking partner around the neighborhood.  She is our companion, our friend, our protector.  Isabell makes us get outside on sunny days to play and never lets us be lazy.  She seems to know what is good for us.  Having her has just been the best thing to happen to us an we can't then NJBR enough for finding us the perfect little wiggle-butt to complete our family.

New Owners: Michelle, Ira, Erin & Haley

Deuce

He has won our hearts and is a loving part of our family. Thanks for all you do for these dogs, Deuce truly deserved a happy home and thanks to NJ Boxer Rescue he has one!

Jodi

I can't believe Jodi has been with us for so long. It took no time at all for Jodi to adjust to her new home where she has plenty of room to run around in the yard.  She is very spoiled.  Joe and I both look forward to coming home and being greeted by Jodi. We get lots of wiggles and kisses.  I still can't believe how lucky we are to have found her with the help of NJBR.

New Owners: Joe & Adrienne

Pippen

Pippen (formerly Peanut) came to us very shy and uneasy not weighing enough and her coat not nice at all.  She didn’t have a great life before and while she liked to be around people you could see she was not completely trusting of them. Fast forward the 4 months we have had Pippen and she is a completely different dog.  She goes to my parents house everyday while we are at work (my dad is retired) and her and Sophie run around the house and the backyard playing with their toys.  Pippen likes to stick to her routine and still follows me from room to room, we call her shadow, but she is a very happy, healthy, and nice looking dog (she gets compliments on her coat from strangers).  My husband and I love her to death and our parents love her too!! Even when she does something she shouldn’t she has that very innocent look that doesn’t let you stay angry at her.  I thank Cindy who helped us try and find the right match and she couldn’t have picked a better fit for us!

New Owners: Gino & Christine

Cyris

We love having Cyris be a part of our family.  He completes us.  Thank you to Denise for her quick response on meeting with us for approval and for following up with us.  Thank you to Dawn for giving our baby a loving and caring home and choosing us to give him his forever home and keeping in touch.  We are truly blessed and are fortunate to have Cyris in our lives.  Thank you to everyone with NJBR for the volunteer work you do for the loving boxers who all deserve loving and caring homes.  Your hard work is very much appreciated!!!

Tai

This is Tai, formerly Tiger.  She has been with our family for one year and has been a blessing to us.  Tai loves to run and play in her yard.  Everyone who meets her, adores her.  She is my little girl.  Thanks to NJ Boxer Rescue for finding the perfect companion for us.

New Owners:

Anna & King

As soon as the dogs stepped in the house, we knew that they were meant to live with us. They were great with the kids and Dawn talked with us for hours about the dogs and their needs. She then took Anna and King back home and when they left we missed them as if they had always been there.  First thing the next morning, I called Dawn and told her we wanted to adopt both the dogs. Our intention was never to get two dogs, but we fell in love the first moment they came into our home and could not imagine life without them now. We adopted Anna and King 6 months ago and we love them both so much. They are an important part of our family and we are so happy they came into our lives.

Dozer

Hard to believe it's been almost 1-year since I brought Dozer home. I'm happy to report that's he's now a well adjusted, happy member of our family. His fear  of loud engine noises has disappeared when he's on our walks. Food aggression is non-existent. He's learned to play with a few toys, but runs if they're thrown toward him which leads me to believe that he may have been physically abused in the past. For the same reason he won't play catch. Maybe he was never introduced to toys when he was younger. We're still waiting for the new dog park to open 2 blocks from where we live so that will be nice for him. Also, we'll soon be able to take long walks on the beach again, Dozer loves the beach!

Sweetie

The Boxer Rescue People brought to my husband and me, the love our lives, Sweetie.  How did we ever live without her?  A character she is, Everyone knows her and not one person does not love her when they encounter the happy dance and the wiggles and most of all the licks. On your worse day, Sweetie can make you feel like a million dollars.  We had the greatest experience with the Rescue People. We just cannot say enough about the Boxer Rescue and all of the wonderful people who do this out of the kindness of their hearts.

Lucky

From and inner city shelter.. to Home Sweet Home: We love Lucky so much!!!  He is such a clown! He brings smile to our faces every time we look at him. He just learned how to give his paw when he wants something! Amber & Lucky get along great, just sometimes they don't know when to stop when playing. Lucky starts his basic obedience on Sept. 16th, I am looking forward to it. It's going to be so much fun!  Thanks for giving us this little boy!

Cassie

Cassie is my adorable, deaf, white Boxer.  I wanted to adopt her so my Boxer/Golden Retriever, Maggie, wouldn't be lonely when I am not home.  I also read that when dogs grow up with other dogs in the house, they tend to be happier, healthier, get more exercise and live longer.  Who would have thought that I would get so lucky to find Cassie on the NJ Boxer Rescue website.  I was a little nervous about adopting a deaf dog but it has been just fine.  She looks up to Maggie and follows her lead.  We have been working on signs for the basic commands and she is doing very well.  She has been a part of our family for a month now.  We absolutely love her and I can't imagine life without her.  Maggie and Cassie compliment each other and get along so well, people think they grew up together.  Thank you Cindy and NJ Boxer Rescue!!

Oscar

We would like to thank all the volunteers who save these
wonderful animals and allow them to become integral members of so many families. If you have a chance to adopt a boxer, you will receive more unconditional love than you can ever imagine…give it a chance; we did, and we can’t imagine our family without Oscar!

Jayda & Tino

Since Tino came from NJBR and they were so wonderful to us, we began searching the website and talking with the rescue ladies.  They found our little Jayda this past April.  From the first time they met, they acted like brother and sister.  Jayda was very timid and uncertain about playtime & toys; but now she is a very playful, happy little girl.  My favorite activity to watch is when each of them has an end of the tug-toy and they walk down the hall together.  They are so precious!!  The kids (our boxers) spend all their time together and our Tino has not has a panic attack or accident since Jayda came to live with us.  Jayda has gained ten pounds since she is with us and is doing very well.  We love both our kids very much, they complete each other & our family!

Powder

I think the NJ Boxer rescue was the most well organized rescue I've come across. Our two dogs act like they were born  together. They are perfect buddies and love to sleep  together. Sometimes we catch Wasabi with his arm around Powder  when they're sleeping. How cute!!! Powder is your typical boxer very
energetic and  playful, Wasabi sometimes can't keep up. We already looked up a boxer rescue in  Florida, where we are moving, because we had such a good experience  with your organization.

Beavis

Our family recently welcomed a wonderful Senior Boxer into our home  and family - and are we glad we did!  Beavis, our 10 year old Male Boxer, is an absolute joy to have around.... He is so patient with our two children, who adore him to no end!.  "Beavis" is just a big mush and a  real clown. He is also a pretty smart guy - we now actually have to spell the  word "walk" when he's around, because as soon as he hears the actual word, he goes into his twirling wiggle dance because he knows he's heading out.  For anyone who is considering a Boxer, please consider a Senior these are such gentle old souls that deserve happy golden years. A big thank you  to the fine folks at NJ Boxer Rescue for volunteering their time and efforts to caring for all these boxers, and for bringing Beavis into our  lives!

Paulie

Paulie is having a great time in his new home.  He runs zoomies around the hayfields and has great boxing matches with his new big sister Roxanne.  He even plays with his new little sister Ellie Crumbles the Chihuahua.  You can always find him in his favorite spot on the couch! He has gained almost 20 lbs since he was rescued.  He loves everyone he meets and everyone he meets loves him! He has been a great addition to our family! We couldn't have asked for a better buddy!

New Owners: Amy & Rich

Tya

Tya is doing great. She is loving the backyard and the snow we've had. She entertains herself when Tyson is too tired to play. She has put on weight, so now no more bones. She is just the sweetest little girl. I think she is finally understanding our routine.  She follows us everywhere.

New Owner: Oliuska

Zoey

Zoey is wonderful. She is my little sweetheart and Baloo's soul mate. They are the ying and yang of dogs. They eat, sleep and play together every minute of the day. Never a growl or a cross look. My boys adore her and even carry her around the house like she is a baby. Her only problem is she tends to be too protective of her family, but she listens when we tell her we are all safe. She is a cuddler and a kisser.  She is wonderful on a leash. As you can see from the pictures, she was gained weight and no longer looks neglected, and, she has a nice big smile.
We (especially Baloo), are very thankful that we have Zoey in our lives.

Lexi

Lexi has adapted really well to us and her new home.  Her collection of toys are scattered comfortably throughout the house.  Lexi makes a game of  hiding her bones.  She covers them or pushes her toys over top of them; then walks away and checks on them to see if they are still there.  Lexi is truly a loveable Boxer.  She likes to be my helper in whatever I am doing, even folding clothes.  Lexi's boxer wiggle looks like she's making the "C" in YMCA.  Her moment of bliss is when she snuggles in between us on the couch at night while we watch TV (or maybe it's the bed)!  She is truly the best little girl!

New Owners: Bernice & Vance

Toby

Toby is doing great in his new home!  The first week he was a little quiet and timid, but now we can see his real personality and he is a typical bouncy boxer puppy with those great wiggles!  He has gained 5 pounds so far in his first few weeks and looks better than ever.  Toby is a real couch potato and wants to be touching you at all times, it's so cute.  Sometimes I call him "shadow" because whenever you leave the room he goes too, even if he is in a deep sleep.  He doesn't want to miss one second of what you are doing!  Toby is a wonderful addition to our home and we couldn't be happier to have him in our life.

New Owners: Jay & Kim

Petey

We were a bit nervous having another dog enter our home.  We were unsure how she would handle the situation...she was the baby of the house since she was 8 weeks old. But, the second Petey entered our lives...it has been great. The NJBR placed the best dog in our home. Both dogs are inseparable and we are so happy with our new addition.

Colby

First we need to thank Greta for helping us find a wonderful match for our family, we adopted Colby  a little over four months ago to be a companion to our 11 year old Sheppard.  When he first got here he was shy, but settled right in. He is a big lover!  Colby loves to give kiss to us and his new brother Buster.  He loves to run around the yard with a basketball in his mouth, it is his favorite toy.  We love having him as part of of our family!

New Owners: Barbara & Dave

Rocky

Rocky is doing great.  He loves the beach, and is quite good on the trails too, only running on a leash.  I am attaching two pictures of us during the snow from last week.  At first he didn't like the snow, but once he realized it wouldn't hurt him he  absolutely loved it.

New Owner: Ben

Lola

Here's a picture of me cheering on my biggest sister in a horseback riding competition.  I'm wearing her team's colors.  My family always takes me with them to horse competitions because I'm so well behaved, and I always end up being the center of attention because I am just so adorable!

New Owners: Donna & Family

Brooke

We've been doing great together.  Brooke does a little tap dance when we get home from work-adorable.  For Christmas she got a snuggly dog bed that she loves and now sleeps next to the bed.  She does come up to give us a wake-up snuggle at around 6:30am-great during the week, not so cute on the weekend!  She's made this "couple" into a little family.

New Owners: Lori & Mark

Narky

When we brought Narky home, he was pretty tuckered out.  But Guinness had to play with him to welcome him!  Since then, they've adjusted well to each other.  Narky follows everything Guinness does. Unless they're playing chase outside - then Guinness can't keep up!  He's decided to sleep on Guinness's bed instead of the one we got him, but it's okay because Guinness just sleeps on the new bed!  We love having him as part of the family!

New Owners: Rob & Amanda

Baron

We were lucky enough to adopt Baron from NJBR about two years ago.  She was 8 years old at the time and passed away in December.  But, not before being showered with love and affection everyday of her life.  She was such a wonderful dog that we completely adored.  Baron was gentle, affectionate, funny and had those awesome boxer wiggles and gave great hugs.  She added something to our lives that is hard to describe and she will always be with us. We are grateful to NJBR for bringing Baron to us and for their great advice and support   In memory of Baron and our incredible experience in knowing her, we will always foster, adopt and contribute toward the care of senior boxers.
